Vintage 70s Quetzal Guatemalan Embroidered Hippie Boho Shirt Jacket - Men's Size L 44 Chest

This is a vintage 70's Guatemalan hand embroidered shirt jacket, often referred to as a Quetzal shirt because it features the national bird of Guatemala, the Resplendent Quetzal. These shirts were particularly popular in the 1960s & 70s.

4 embroidered panels depicting the quetzal bird surrounded by geometric Aztec / Mayan inspired borders.

Large quetzal bird embroidered on the back.

Made from a heavy weight hand loomed cotton fabric giving it a texture.

Large flared retro collar

Two pockets on the front

Buttons down the midline and cuffs.

Two buttons at the hips on both sides.
