This is an exceptional example of a vintage 1970's / 80's Koos Van Den Akker Midi Dress.
The designer was a Dutch-born, New York based designer famously known as the master of "couture collage" or "wearable art." His garments frequently featured intricate patchwork, mismatched multi-fabric prints, and distinctive lace or fabric appliques.
This dress showcases his iconic technique of mixing highly disparate textiles and patchwork into a beautifully harmonious and fluid garment.
