Vintage 70s St. Chamond Beaded Pant Suit Bird Flower Western Glam Jacket & Pants

This vintage 1970s St. Chamond matching two-piece pantsuit set is an excellent example of mid-1970's Western-glam maximalism. The brand was active during the late 1960s and 1970s. They specialized in ready-to-wear matching embellished corduroy and denim coordinated sets.

DETAILS of the Jacket

- The set is crafted from a soft, rich mauve pine fine-wale corduroy.

- The center piece is the back with two vibrant, heavily seed beaded large cranes -- one with a contrasting yellow belly and black head tufts with a bug in its beak, and another shorter white crane -- standing amid green reeds, bright yellow and orange lilies, and stylized light-blue swirling cloud waves at the base.

- The curved western style stitched back yoke spans across the shoulders, decorated with an overarching branch of orange and yellow beaded blossoms.

- Long structured sleeves
- Curved hem with a traditional western shirt look.
- Black buttoned cuffs
- Black buttons down the central placket.
- Wide spread dagger collar
- 2 symmetrical structured chest flap pockets with stitched horizontal seams across the top.

- Left breast pocket features a smaller, matching embroidered white crane motif standing on light blue swirling cloud waves, tying the front to the larger artwork on the back.


DETAILS of the Pants

- High waisted style
- Dramatic wide-leg fit that bells out into an authentic 70s flare.

- Back pockets have beaded detailing: The left features vertical green stalks and orange / yellow lilies rising out of blue and white swirling waves. The right features a flying crane with a yellow belly and outstretched wings, accompanied by small white and blue stitched details representing clouds.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition; shows very little wear. Suit was dry cleaned to remove dust and odor. I did see one area slightly discolored on the back of the left knee that is not noticeable, see pic.
