Nos Vintage 1970s HUDSON BAY for HERTER'S Fly-Fishing Jacket | Men's Size M

New old stock Hudson Bay fly fishing jacket produced by the legendary outdoor supplier Herter's Inc. They had a major retail store in Mitchell, South Dakota, where this luxury fishing jacket was purchased in 1976 and never worn.


DETAILS

This incredible Fly-Fishing jacket is loaded with specialized utility details that are intended for a day on the river.

- Constructed from a rugged, lightweight, khaki-colored cotton poly blend fabric
- The front features 4 prominent button-flap storage compartments. The top-left pocket includes stitched divisions specifically tailored to store pens, tools, or narrow tackle tubes.
- Above the left chest pocket is a genuine plush sheepskin patch. Anglers used this to hook and dry their wet artificial fishing flies while changing lures.
- Upper left arm has a vertical pocket with a buttoned flap for small essentials.
- Located directly below the collar on the upper back is a heavy-duty metal D-ring. This was engineered to hold a landing net, keeping it easily reachable behind the angler while wading in deep water.
- Flanking the center D-ring strip are two fabric loops designed to assist with securing gear or stabilization.
- The lower back features a massive, full-width game pouch that opens via button-flap entry on both the left and right sides. This allowed fishermen to easily slide larger pieces of equipment, rain gear, or a fresh catch into the back from either hand.
- True to mid-century wading jacket designs, it features a short, cropped hemline. This cut prevented the bottom of the jacket from dipping into the river when the angler was wearing high chest waders.
