Vintage 1970s Annie Laurie Originals Palm Beach decoupage wooden box purse featuring classic Holly Hobbie artwork. This particular piece showcases a nostalgic scene of a sunbonnet girl riding a bicycle with a basket of kittens, perfectly capturing the era's beloved cottagecore aesthetic.

Annie Laurie operated as an independent, artisan designer based out of glamourous Palm Beach, Florida. Her handbags were painstakingly produced individually by hand. No two bags are exactly the same even if they used the same base theme.

Her whimsical resort ready creations captured the signature Palm Beach holiday aesthetic. She sold them to high-end resort boutiques and premier department stores, including Saks Fifth Avenue.

- There are areas of the purse that bubble out and are called 3D decoupage. Instead of gluing the paper illustration flat onto the wood, the artisan achieved a sculptural effect through a multi-step process. They would take multiple copies of the artwork and cut out foreground elements. These cutouts were elevated off the base using tiny hidden foam spacers. This created the bubbled tactile quality of the piece. The entire exterior was then coated in thick layers of clear lacquer.

- Lining is a powder blue quilted fabric.
- Prominent metal flip latch.

Size: 9" Wide x 5" Height x 6" Depth

Condition: Excellent with a few tiny chips, nothing large or detracting from the bag, normal use and wear. Purse is clean and has no smells.
